Reading the blog at Pink Heels definitely made me jealous.  The idea of having a day off to organise myself and bring some balance back into my life is excellent.   I want a day off, too, although one without the work!   I would love to go on retreat but can’t find the time.  Typical!  Still, you have to know by now that what Ms Feet Up wants, Ms Feet Up gets!.

One of mu current favourite pieces is this pincushion.  Elena found the silver casing of what would once have been a glass goblet in an op shop.  Without the glass lining they seemed to be useless to anyone, but Elena has made them into elegant 1920’s style pincushions.  The feather and flower decoration are elegant and suit the ornate silver casing.

I hate it when my husband says to me, “Where did you put the hammer?  You must have had it because it isn’t in the toolbox.  I always put it away.”

Yeah, right.

I think it might be time to invest in a nice, girly coloured tool set of my own that he won’t be seen dead with.  The tools should stay safe and untouched by male hands.

We are suffering a heat wave, here in Victoria, and it make me feel so dull and lethargic.  My brain slows down and I spend more time yawning than achieving anything.  I need to snap out of it.

I remember last summer, my children had a karate tournament.  It was a 38C day and inside the hall it was 40C.  Half of Victoria was on fire and we were covered in a pall of smoke.  Because the hall was so hot we had to have the doors open and the haze oozed into the room with us.  The kids had to fight in this!
