I was skipping merrily across websites earlier and tripped over at a meditation site.
Meditation Australia offers a free online course in meditation for anyone who is interested. It has videos and podcasts included. There is a course suitable for adults as well as one for children. Also on the site are other freebies including guided meditations and meditation music.
Meditation has proven health benefits including stress relief and, lets face it, a little quiet time never hurt anyone! If you have been interested in meditation but haven’t actually been game to give it a go yet then perhaps this site is for you.

There seems to be a lot of online stores stocking clothes babies and little girls but not many that specialise in clothes just for boys. Just For Boys is a gift to mothers of boys aged 0-8. They stock a wonderful range of styles and brands and there is none of this ‘cutesy stuff’ about it!
Have a look at these. Your child will be all male from the day he is born when he wears some of these outfits. Even the dummies have ‘attitude’. Have you ever seen a camouflage dummy?
This range is sturdy but it is also fashionable. It features brands such as Ed Hardy, Sourpuss, Mites and Sandbox Rebel, just to name a few. Just For Boys stocks shoes and accessories as well, including the best selling Ramones range.
If you have boys then this is the perfect place to shop.

Some mornings it just seems so rushed, doesn’t it? Breakfast seems to be the least important thing to do in the morning rush. Sadly, skipping breakfast is probably the worst decision that you can make. By mid-morning you will hit the slump. What a great way to ruin the day.
Here are some easy breakfast ideas from Nutrition Australia:
Fresh or tinned fruit with wholegrain breakfast cereal and low fat milk.
Toast with cheese and tomato or banana and honey.
Boiled eggs with wholegrain toast.
Rolled oats with cut up fresh or dried fruit and low fat milk.
Baked beans on toast.
Tub of low fat yoghurt with fresh or tinned fruit.
These were designed with kids in mind but it applies equally well to adults. Of course, on a day off you can take your time over breakfast and really enjoy it.

Coming to Australia in nmid-October is the new accessory must-have for shoe lovers.
The Shoe Seen is a clever shoe pouch that allows you to store your shoes and still see which pair is inside. The pouches are even better than the clear shoe boxes available at the moment because they take up far less space in your wardrobe. They are also great for travel. Just pick up the puch and pack it in your bag. It will take up no more room than your shoes do.

Once upon a time there was a cow. She lived on a farm with a hundred other cows but she was bored. She was tired of walking in the mud and following along in line behind the other cows. One day as she stood in the paddock chewing her cud, she looked around. There in the branches of the big, dead tree were some seagulls. These same seagulls visited every day, flying in to land nearby. The cow was jealous of them and wished that she could fly just like them. How great it would be to take to the sky and be free, away from the heavy mud. The mud weighed her down like wet cement. Just imagine the things she could do if she could be free.
One morning the cow decided that she was not going to follow the others any longer. She was going to find the seagulls and learn to fly. She crept out of the paddock through the broken fence and followed her nose to the coast. The ground changed under her hoofs as she walked. Gone was the mud and instead she felt sand. This was unnerving but exciting and spurred her further on.
Eventually she came to the beach where the seagulls played and she lumbered slowly up to them. “Please teach me to fly like you do. I want to be free.” The seagulls looked at each other and squawked with laughter. “You can’t fly like us because you are a cow. Cows can’t fly. You don’t even have wings.”
The poor cow was very disappointed. She had hoped so much that someone would help her. It wasn’t her fault that she didn’t have wings. She walked sadly off to sit on the beach, watch the ocean and mope.
“What is wrong with you?” The cow looked up and saw a dolphin looking at her from the waves. “What is wrong with you?” he said again. The cow said, “I want to fly but I don’t have wings.” The dolphin laughed and said “Who needs wings? I can fly and I only have fins.”
He encouraged the cow to enter the water. She wasn’t used to the waves or the pull of the current beneath her. “Just trust me. Trust yourself.” said the dolphin. She did so and, with the dolphin, swam further and further away from the beach. “Can you feel the waves?”the dolphin asked. “Yes” mooed the cow in wonder. “They are really pushing me around.” “Now just let go”, said the dolphin. “Just picture yourself flying! Feel the waves pushing you and go for it.”
Cow closed her eyes and imagined leaping into the air. She could feel the wind whistling around her ears. “I can do it.”, she said to herself. “I can do it!”
“NOW!”, yelled the dolphin.
The cow took the power of the wave and sailed up and out of the sea. “Open your eyes!” She looked and could see the sea beneath her. She felt the breeze on her udders. She felt the dolphin flying beside her. “I am free!”, she thought. “When I want to fly I can really do it”
The dolphin smiled and said “Never listen to those who tell you can’t do it. You don’t need wings to fly.”
So next time you go to the beach, keep your eyes open for the cow that flies. She might teach you to fly too.

I first fell in love with D’Artagnan when I saw Gene Kelly in the role when I was a child. I always loved the tale of The Three Musketeers but once I saw this film I was D’Artagnan’s secret admirer for ever after. I loved the humour that Kelly put into the role but I was moved to tears during the scene of Constance’s death.
I was thinking of it over the weekend and I came across a recipe called D’Artagnan Cocktail on About.com. What a discovery for a champagne lover!
Ingredients:
1 tsp Armagnac
1 tsp Grand Marnier
3 tsp fresh orange juice
1/2 tsp simple syrup
3 oz chilled Champagne
orange peel for garnish
Preparation:
Pour the Armagnac, Grand Marnier, orange juice and sugar syrup into a mixing glass with ice.
Stir.
Strain the chilled mix into a Champagne flute.
Top with Champagne.
Garnish with an orange peel dropped into the drink.
Doesn’t that sound like the height of decadence? I think that I will treat myself to an afternoon of D’Artagnans, but not all of the champagne kind. Time to sip while I watch the film again, I believe!
Just so that you don’t feel left out here is a clip of Gene Kelly in the role of D’Artagnan, showing his humourous side!
