Hands off the Hammer, Buster! No comments yet

I hate it when my husband says to me, “Where did you put the hammer?  You must have had it because it isn’t in the toolbox.  I always put it away.”

Yeah, right.

I think it might be time to invest in a nice, girly coloured tool set of my own that he won’t be seen dead with.  The tools should stay safe and untouched by male hands.

On special from Deals Direct at the moment is this pink tool set in a pink case.  Not only can the tools be safely contained in the case, they are designed for women.   Why bother with big, dirty hammers and pliers when I can have pretty pink ones?

If there is one thing I hate it is being kept waiting, especially in some strange bar or restaurant.  I feel as though everyone is watching me.

Time for a new watch.  One for me and one for ‘the man.’  Have a look at these.

Aren’t they lovely?  How streamlined is the mans watch on the left?  For me, I picked one with a bit of bling for my Friday night out.

These are both available from the large watch selection at
Essential Mall.

Moonstone Goddess Pendant

When I saw this pendant I thought immediately of Nicole from The Modern Goddess and her love of moonstones.   I just had to have it.

The pendant is made of sterling silver and has been shaped into a slightly primitive version of a human figure with her arms above her head.  She is holding a lovely moonstone in her hands.   It will be in stock at Beauty Banquet by the end of the week.

I Love Movie Stars 4 comments

It is probably quite obvious to you that I love my movies, especially those starring the actors from the golden era - Audrey Hepburn,  Ingrid Bergman and Elizabeth Taylor, just to name a few.

Imagine my delight when I found these beauties on Etsy.  They are all hand made by Staci of Pink Pooch Designs and they are made of woven beads.  Aren’t they clever?  These particular bracelets feature Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor, but there are others that you can choose from.

These are unique artisan creations that everyone else will be jealous of.    I want one!

Dance, anyone? 1 comment

What a smooth dance move the Moon Walk is.  It is something that I could never figure out how to do.  Oh, you either?  Have a look at this video clip and it will show you step by step how to do it.  Guess what I will be doing today? This is more my kind of exercise than running!

How To Moon Walk

If dancing is your idea of fun but your husband is a continual dancefloor embarassment then he must watch this next funny clip.  It is worth a chuckle but it does get the message across.  Just think, if we could persuade men to watch this we could halve the number of clips sent in to Funniest Home Videos!

Sometimes you just fall over good things by accident and that is what happened when I found Glorydaze.

Some girls have a passion for shoes but I am a bag girl ( no, not bag lady!)  Glorydaze makes a clever and colourful range of bags which are available on Etsy.   Many are restyled military bags that are remade with the addition of unique and individually sourced material.  Each bag is a work of art and the best thing is that there is a great selection of messenger bags - those universally useful carry alls!  Just the thing to carry all my Friday night essentials…………..

Life in the fashion world. 1 comment

Beauty Banquet has posted an article on ‘bitchiness in the fashion world’ .  I have often wondered what it would be like to work on a fashion mag.    Sadly, the closest I will come is to living those worlds by DVD.  Pass the popcorn, I want to dream!

Two movies which spring to mind are “The Devil Wears Prada” and, from my daughters collection. “13 Going on 30″, which is one of our favourites.  It is funny watching these people scheme and fight and live their snobby, selfish lives but it is not the way that I want to live.  It makes for a great afternoons entertainment, though!

If you haven’t seen these movies then grab them from DVD Orchard where they are well priced.

My Monday Off. No comments yet

My desk looks like a battleground, which I guess it is in a way.  I am not one of these super tidy people and there are papers strewn around but I know where everything is.  Today, though, it is a little out of control.  Why is it that what is mine belongs to everyone?   I think I need a lock on the drawers!  Time to do some serious organising.

I found these at the online  Office Warehouse.

Even a PC cleaner with bits to clean the mouse, they keyboard and all the nooks and crannies!

Well, you know what I am doing with my Monday off.  What are you doing with yours?

1.jpgDon’t even talk to me.  I am tired and I want chocolate.  What I want is the Big Chocolate Box from Rainbow Designs.

It includes all those temper soothing delights such as freckles, M&M’s, jaffas, clinkers, choc bullets, fantales, choc buds, cobbers, milk and caramel buds.

To aid the soothing process I should add some nice scent to my bath.  2.jpgNo!  Blow that!  I want more chocolate.

Where better to get if from than Real Mums and in the form of Chocolate Moo Shake.? This is a rich and chocolatey bath milk that soothes the skin and the mind.

These little chocolate fixes should set me up for the weekend.
