My Monday Off.

It is a public holiday today for Labour Day.  Time for a good sleep in and a delicious breakfast.  Today I can take my time about things and enjoy it.

I love French Toast but often it is sweet, to go with jam toppings.  I like it savoury style and here is my favourite recipe.

French toast with Baked beans

Ingredients:

1 teaspoon olive oil 881756_32879942sm.jpg

1 egg

2 tablespoons skim milk

Salt and pepper to taste

2 slices bread ½ cup baked beans, to serve

Method

1.       Whisk egg and milk together until well combined.

2.       Tip mixture into shallow dish.

3.       Dip both sides of the bread into the egg mix.

4.       In a non stick pan, heat the olive oil then cook the bread on both sides until golden brown.

5.       Heat the baked beans and serve on top of the French toast.

  1. YUM! Sounds delicious.

  2. It is delicious! If you are not a fan of baked beans you can try grilled tomatoes and ham or even bacon. Nice and savoury.

  3. That sounds yummy! I love French toast (especially when my son makes it for me) but have only ever had the sweet version. We’ll have to give this recipe a try.
