Recently our anti-virus and computer protection program was due for renewal. We hadn’t been happy with it for some time and, funnily enough, once we started asking around for feedback about it, found that many other people were unhappy with it too
I was not familiar with the computer protection programs that were available to me so I began to do some research. The name that I came across most often was P-Cillin. The comments were so good that I thought it well worth trying so I signed up for the free 30 day trial. My 30 days are almost up and I have to say that I am totally converted. This program, by Trend Micro, is wonderful. The Pr-Version even has keystroke encryption included! It has found problems on my computer that the other program missed and has stopped some from entering the system.
The licence covers up to 3 computers, too.
I figure that is this is good enough to protect the computer security of our defence systems (apparently!) then it is good enough for my home PC.
Tali presents The Bare Facts About Pinups posted at The Pinup Shop Blog, saying, “Is the pinup just a trite commercial illustration? Or maybe there’s more to this art niche, than a relic of old-fashioned pornography?”
Aparna presents 11 things you can do with olive oil posted at Beauty and Personality Grooming, saying, “Besides lemon, milk, sugar, aloe, turmeric, sandalwood and honey, olive oil is another household item that has multifarious uses as a beauty aid. It is a mild, non-irritant, antibacterial oil that is rich in antioxidants; hence is ideal for the skin. Here are a few things that you could do with olive oil.”
GP presents Celebrating Sabbath posted at Innside Montana-Your Home at the Range, saying, “In this hectic world with our busy lifestyles it is so easy to get engrossed in other things that we never have time for God. Some of us may spend a couple of hours of a Sunday morning attending church, but then the hum drum of the rat race catches up with us”
poetloverrebelspy presents Killing Time on the Road posted at Less Than a Shoestring, saying, “You’ve got seven hours ahead of you on this trip — seven hours where you feel you should be doing something, seven hours where you’ve got to keep yourself, maybe your spouse, maybe your van full of kids entertained and busy. My suggestions in this post!”
Jennifer Gervens presents Day 1 posted at The Freebie Diva, saying, “Health and beauty samples, baby samples, and food samples are featured most frequently and updated on a daily basis.”
Liz Fuller presents Women Entrepreneurs: The Value of Being Optimistic posted at More Than WE Know, saying, “Ask any experienced entrepreneur and they will tell you that there have been at least as many tough times as good. Sometimes our ability to weather the storms comes down to our own mental attitude as much as any other factor. Read this to find out why being optimistic in the face of hardship may be more valuable than you think.”

What are you doing reading this? It is Christmas! Oh, OK. You are not working, just surfing the net. That is acceptable then.
So why not kill some time with this addictive site? It is called Snow Days and you make (and post) your own snowflakes. I can’t help myself. As you look at some of the flakes falling past watch out for mine! Watch, also, as day turns to night in the background.

I was over at the Small Business Diva blog yesterday and came across this video. There were definite elements in it that reminded me of my life. You can feel the stress and pressure oozing out of the clip, although it is very funny to watch.

Welcome to the December 17, 2007 edition of mothers in business carnival.
Thank you to everyone who submitted their articles to the carnival.  I have chosen the following posts as being most relevant to the needs of Mothers in Business.
The Career Counselor presents The Top Ten Companies for Working Moms and How to Negotiate Better Family-Friendly Benefits posted at ask the CareerCounselor, saying, “Although there are undoubtedly many companies still stuck in the dark ages of work-family balance, many employers are shifting toward a more positive attitude regarding extended maternity leave or extended time off for child care. More and more businesses are putting up quite a fight to hang onto valuable female employees and executives. These efforts include a range of clever time-management and career development options. For example, many employer programs offer women the opportunity to ‘phase back’ into work after leave, perhaps working only a few hours a day at the start and then working towards a normal full-time schedule. Other companies provide extended maternity leave or child-care leave, coupled with opportunities to stay up to date in their field such as free training classes and networking events.”
Liz Fuller presents Today’s Woman Entrepreneur - Claudia of NiÉriu posted at More Than WE Know, saying, “Ninety percent of Americans identify themselves as Conscious Consumers who prefer eco-friendly products. Go behind the scenes of one woman entrepreneur’s business to find out how she appeals to this target market.”

Have you considered making your own Christmas Cards instead of buying the mass produced versions? This is something that the kids can do too, ans often better than we can! These will be the cards that are tucked away in Nana’s little box of treasures, and often valued more than the gift that came with it.
Jenni, of Jenni’s Papercraft Designs, has some stunning handmade cards. OK, this one isn’t for Christmas, but I love it anyway. Isn’t it beautiful?  I hope it inspires you to have a go for yourself.
