Rainbow Designs 2 comments

Following on from my post a couple of days ago about chocolate, I thought that I’d introduce you to Rainbow Designs. Rainbow Designs is an online shop where you can buy all sorts of giftpacks full of sweets.

On her blog, Jacqui tells us that “Scientific research tells us that eating chocolate triggers the release of endorphins, natural opiates in the brain known to reduce pain and enhance one’s mood and sense of pleasure.” So go ahead and eat, knowing that a serene poppy makes for a happy home.

If you are more of a jelly bean person, have you ever wondered how they are made? Did you know that the flavour is in the shell, not the centre? Jacqui tells us all about the jelly bean .

For a wonderful selection of gift packs visit this clever store.

I’ve been nominated! 1 comment

I woke up this morning and staggered out to the computer as I normally do - shuffling slippers, hair on end and Real Mum’s Mug in hand. I was looking exceptionally glamorous this morning, wearing my decorative black bags beneath my eyes. It was definitely not a stiletto and lipstick morning.

The computer had obviously had a hard night as it took ages to start up, and my eyes had glazed over by the time it was ready to play, I went through the normal routine of checking emails and forums, and look what I found!

Woo Hoo! Some lovely person has nominated my Diva Days blog for an award - in 3 categories! Amazing!

Now all I need is a vote so that it doesn’t look so lonely. If you feel like voting for me please hop on over and do so. Just click on the pretty badge to the right and it should take you there.
Oh what a buzz!

Oh, Chocolate! 3 comments

Chocolate and I have an ongoing love affair. Like many women, we need our chocolate fix to keep the world on an even keel. Yes, I said the world. I am perfectly well balanced thank you. Stop that sniggering.
Here are some of my favourite chocolate sayings………

Forget love — I’d rather fall in chocolate!!!

Stress wouldn’t be so hard to take if it were chocolate covered.

Chocolate is nature’s way of making up for Mondays.

In the cookies of life, friends are the chocolate chips.

Chocolate is cheaper than therapy and you don’t need an appointment

I hope this cheers your day. And buy me some some with caramel?

Need a new bag? 3 comments

I have come across a huge sale from a wonderful online store called Sweet Dare. It stocks a gorgeous range of bags which, at the moment, are a minimum of 50% off!
This is the lovely Cafe Bag by Lulu. Normally it is $39.95 but at the moment it is only $19.97! How could you go past it?
Do yourself a favour and see what Jane has on sale.

If you had the time………….. 5 comments

We hardly ever get time to ourselves, do we?

If you had the time what would you do? Imagine - there is no one home, only you. Nobody is saying “Mum, can you get me the……” or “Honey, where is the……?” I don’t know about you but I never get time to myself. I often think about how I would spend it if I had free time, and now I want to know what you would do.

Please vote in the poll to the left. Let’s see what everyone else would like to do.

You’re Going Somewhere 3 comments

This is a song by singer/songwriter Christine Kane and it is for every woman who ever faced her fears, and for those who did not.

Christine knows what it is like to let fear hold you back. She also knows what it is like to take a big leap into the unknown when you begin a process of change. In her own words she says “In the mid 90’s, I made a giant leap into the unknown. I started writing songs and performing. Though it might seem like no big deal to someone who sees me perform now, at the time it was the scariest thing I had ever done. Most of the people in my life thought I had lost my mind.Through the process of building a career as an artist, I woke up. I healed an eating disorder, I got over depression, I built a business, I sold over 65,000 CD’s, I toured the country several times over, I stopped thinking my emotional reactions were the truth, and I learned how to consciously create my life and my career.”

The song is called “Right Outta Nowhere”. The clip goes for 5 mins 30 secs but even if you only watch the first couple of minutes you can’t miss the truth in the words.

Leap and the net will appear.

A Diva Without Money 1 comment

Nothing can keep a good diva down. Why let a little lack of money hold you back from the treats that you deserve? Why not enter some competitions and win a treat or two?

My Shiny New Shoes is a new Australian online shopping site that features lots of divine things like chocolate and fragrance. Even better, it has a section called (funnily enough) Competitions.
What I like about the competitions presented here is that the prizes are all gorgeous, and could justifiably be called diva necessities. Imagine winning a dozen red roses? Or a box of beauty products?

While you are at the site why not have a look around? There are useful bits of information there, hints, tips and discoveries. The products featured are lovely and would make beautiful gifts.

Hmmm. Maybe it is time to make up that wish list!

Where’s Your Creativity? 1 comment

When you want to find those photos of that special night, do you have to sort through shoeboxes full of prints? Are they scattered everywhere? Why not pull out the really special ones while you are there and turn them into something lovely? It will help preserve them at the same time.

Scrapbooking has really become popular lately. You can create a page and frame it or create lots and make an album. You can even make cards with or without photos.

All Things Scrapbooking is a wonderful site full of scrapbooking information. It has a number of different contributors who each have their own area of speciality.
If you haven’t tried scrapbooking, visit the site and see what you have been missing.
