My local Business Women’s Network

There are a lot of women working from home now, especially in my area which is growing quickly, and being filled with young families. Many families are struggling to make ends meet on one wage so one parent (usually Mum) tries to work part time or from home. This can be a very isolating experience, so we have formed a network so that we can aid each other and add some human contact into the equation.

This is our Mission Statement which tells you what we intend to achieve as a group.

“We are a network of professional women who represent service, retail and home-based business. We provide support, information and education for women who are currently in business or are just starting out. As a group we actively provide feedback to local bodies regarding policies which affect us. Above all, we provide continual encouragement and inspiration for all working women as they balance the demands of work and family life.”

We are business women who have planned our business strategies, and we know our business well. We meet every one -two months at Hogan’s, Northern Highway, Wallan

We come from a variety of businesses. Many of us work from home. Our group is made up of beauticians, accountants, alpaca breeders, artists, consultants, shop owners and representatives from many more types of business.

We offer training and education in all areas of business. We seek out and provide specialised training as needed by the group, such as computer skills, record keeping, and Sales and Marketing strategies.

We offer help in developing your business plan, which is one of the most important documents that you will develop for your business.

At this stage membership is free, and there is a small charge to attend each meeting. We keep our costs to a minimum so that it doesn’t stop anyone from coming along. We even manage childcare if it is needed.

If you need support in your home area why not start your own network? The benefits are amazing.

  1. Go Anne
    You are a SERIOUS Star
Women’s needs on this front are quite different from Men’s
This is something like I’d like to do in the Eastern suburbs.

  2. Thanks Chris. You are so right. We have a whole different mindset when it comes to business. We have a lot of personal hurdles to overcome before we can begin to value ourselves as business women. It makes for an interesting network.
