Colour is one of the things that we respond to instinctively, and often without conscious thought. While the colour you wear can improve or detract from your appearance, the colours that surround you can improve or detract from your mood or work performance. The power of colour is incredible yet it is something that most of us give little thought to.
Michelle Bernhardt has just released a book called Colorstrology, where she links your birthdate with a particular colour. Do the online quiz at the Pantone site to discover your birth colour. Just click on the month of your birth then on the dot that represents that actual birth date. You will have a special colour that relates to you. Does it feel right to you? What is your response to the colour named as yours?

I love shell based jewellery. Its natural, organic beauty can’t be reproduced. This is my current favourite.

It is a shell that is set into a 925 silver frame. The shell has a superb lustre to it and it shimmers in the sun. This is such a simple piece that it looks best on a plain silver collar.
I saw this at Kitty Art and just had to try it. It tells me that I am a ’sophisticat’ which is obviously the true me showing from behind this daggy facade.
Who are you? Try it and find out.
Michele of the MPPI Network has challenged us to write about where we see ourselves (either personally or in business) by the end of the year.
This takes a bit of thought. Lots of things are happening and some days I feel as though my brain is scrambled as I jump from one task to another.
This year I want to do these things in my business:
1. Help more people to become BB consultants. That means that I have to tighten up all the paperwork such as BB forms, consultant handbooks etc.
2. Do something major about storage. While everything has a place I think that we could do with some help to organise things so that they fit better with the flow of the work.
3. Finally have my website set up to properly include everything we do, and have it just the way we want it.
4. Maintain my blogs and raise my business profile.
5. Have some articles published.
6. To finish my marketing plan (which means that Candice might have to give me a prod quite often to get it happening!)
7. Make a profit!
Personal goals are:
1. Finish 4 subjects this year.
2. Give myself an overhaul and update my style (or lack of it!)
3. Do as the previous post suggests and start taking a few risks.
4. To be much healthier than I am now.
5. To do something with my frustrated creative side.
6. To keep my family happy and healthy.
There are lots more goals that I can add under both headings. There are so many things that I want to do, and I want them all done now! I will visit this post at the end of the year and see how far I have come.
I was reading this morning and came across this wonderful quote from Lucille Ball.
“I would rather regret the things that I have done than the things that I have not.”
How often have you held back from doing something because you were scared or unsure? Because you were worried about what would happen? Remember that person you should have said goodbye to? Remember that boy you should have kissed when you had the opportunity? The hardest part is recognising the opportunities when they appear.
I can’t think of anything worse than coming to the end of my life and wondering what it would have been like if I had done the things that I was too scared to try.
Don’t let fear hold you back from anything. Try everything at least once. Lucille Ball was everything from blonde bombshell to queen of comedy. She tried it all. Follow her lead and as the ad says “Just Do It.”
There are a lot of women working from home now, especially in my area which is growing quickly, and being filled with young families. Many families are struggling to make ends meet on one wage so one parent (usually Mum) tries to work part time or from home. This can be a very isolating experience, so we have formed a network so that we can aid each other and add some human contact into the equation.
This is our Mission Statement which tells you what we intend to achieve as a group.
“We are a network of professional women who represent service, retail and home-based business. We provide support, information and education for women who are currently in business or are just starting out. As a group we actively provide feedback to local bodies regarding policies which affect us. Above all, we provide continual encouragement and inspiration for all working women as they balance the demands of work and family life.”
We are business women who have planned our business strategies, and we know our business well. We meet every one -two months at Hogan’s, Northern Highway, Wallan
We come from a variety of businesses. Many of us work from home. Our group is made up of beauticians, accountants, alpaca breeders, artists, consultants, shop owners and representatives from many more types of business.
We offer training and education in all areas of business. We seek out and provide specialised training as needed by the group, such as computer skills, record keeping, and Sales and Marketing strategies.
We offer help in developing your business plan, which is one of the most important documents that you will develop for your business.
At this stage membership is free, and there is a small charge to attend each meeting. We keep our costs to a minimum so that it doesn’t stop anyone from coming along. We even manage childcare if it is needed.
If you need support in your home area why not start your own network? The benefits are amazing.

I would like to introduce you to someone who will never have difficulty with her Diva status. Her name is Alana and she is 10 years old. She is all woman through and through and revels in glam things. She is the true Diva - all style without that horrible attitude problem!
She has created her own website at
www.alanadesigns.com.au. It is aimed at girls of her own age and is an online shop full of great things for girls to wear, make and do.
GO and have a look. It is not officially online yet and is still only partly stocked, but what a major step for a 10 year old business Diva.
Congratulations Alana.
